There’s been a lot online lately about fake reviews on Amazon. I’m not talking about the well known writers who have admitted to writing their own or paying someone else to write flattering reviews of their books.
I’m talking about lady pens. Pens for ladies. Hens’ pens. Chick ink.
Amazon lists these features for the BIC Cristal For Her Ball Pen:
- Elegant design – just for her!
- Thin barrel to fit a women’s hand
Hurray for the masses claiming an expected online forum to be creative. It’s sort of a literary flash mob.
Here are some snippets from the reviews:

Interestingly, if you go back through the reviews, there are a lot of positive comments that sound a little flakey after you’ve read 20 pages of snark.
Are the Bic marketing people worried about 600 sarcastic reviews? I doubt it. In fact, one wonders . . .
